Pizza Vietnam

And so if you can't get good pizza, make your own, right? I went to the market and bought fresh basil and pumpkin blossoms, one of my new favorite things to eat here. Sauteed them down with some garlic. Found some random jar of spaghetti sauce and semi-normal mozerella cheese at a grocery store here, used the French bread that we buy every day right outside our door, and voila: pumpkin blossom and basil pizza. The kids had theirs' of course sans the pumpkin blossoms, though I did put in a hard sell.

We are surviving, though every day it gets a little bit hotter. We have a water service that brings us fresh drinkable water on demand and the demand is getting pretty high these days.

Lily just said the Vietnamese word for ball ("boung") while playing with some kids outside and we were both amazed.

Today Mark and I start Vietnamese language lessons at the college. Two and a half hour classes 3x a week. It's a beginner's class for foreigners, but I'm nervous. There are tests and a midterm and everything. I told Mark that if it's not held in an air-conditioned classroom, I'm a goner (literally). Wish us luck.

I happened to remember Michelle at daycare saying that you guys had a blog page and here you are. Tatum has been asking about Lily. Please tell Lily that Tatum says "Hi!" What an amazing adventure you have been having. Take Care.

So, how did the first lesson go? Tonight we go for our 2nd Mandarin Conversation class - fortunately, I found a lovely teacher hailing from a village near Shanghai and she was willing to take us all as a "family class" - the kids laugh at our pronunciation - they enjoy being better than us!
