Two Scenes of Children Growing Up

SCENE ONE

Lily is learning to color now and--just like her big brother--her favorite subject is Christmas trees. Notice how she colored the ornaments and the presents under the tree. Notice, too, her signature--yes, Lily wrote that! (The purple cans of 7-Up are what she wants for her birthday: two cans, "one for my birthday cake, and one for the Christmas tree.")

SCENE TWO

We took the training wheels off of Hudson's bike today, and he practiced going up and down our alley. It might take a little while for him to master it, but he's working hard and we were able to let go just a bit three or four times. He had his face set in a look of determination that was so sweet to see, so we'll head back out again later today, tomorrow, for as long as it takes...

Dear Hudson and Lily,
The two of you are GROWING UP really fast and too far away for Grandpa and I. It won't be long now before you fly back to Brockport. We are really looking forward to talking with you on the phone.

Hi everyone,

Happy Birthday Hudson!

We wanted you to know that in July of 2008 we have a wedding. Ryan proposed to Kristin! The wedding will be here in Albany. Will Lily be up for a role as Flower Girl?

We are still looking for warmth and sun. Look forward to seeing you soon

Hudson,
I want to take the training wheels off my bike too, but we can't go outside because it is still raining and cold and for the rest of my life it will be raining or snowing. We do have one tulip blooming by our driveway and we have some daffodils and purple flowers too. And some yellow ones look pretty. But is 50 degrees!
See you soon. Get back carefully.
Love, Maeve
